Terms of Use

Version 2026-07-16 · Beta · Translation — in case of discrepancy, the Portuguese version prevails.

⚠️ Working draft for the beta, to be reviewed by a lawyer before public launch (full identity, tax number, contact address). Not legal advice.

1. Who we are

Sunveo (web app, mobile apps and the sunveo.app website — “the Service”) is operated by [FULL NAME], an independent developer (sole trader) registered in Portugal, tax number (NIF) [—], reachable at [email protected] and at [address or PO box] (“we”). By creating an account, you accept these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

2. Nature of the Service: recommendation, not sale

Sunveo is a travel recommendation and organisation service. We do not sell flights, accommodation or activities and we are not a travel agency: we show you offers and redirect you to partners (Booking.com, GetYourGuide, airlines…), with whom you make and pay for your bookings. The travel contract is concluded directly between you and the partner, under their terms.

Affiliate transparency: some partner links are compensated — we may earn a commission when you book through them, at no extra cost to you. Commissions never influence scores or the order of recommendations.

3. Account and eligibility

The Service is intended for adults (18+). You agree to provide accurate information and keep your credentials safe. You may delete your account at any time; we may suspend accounts in case of abuse (section 8).

4. Web app: your data lives on your device

Your traveller profile (preferences, group composition, “travel memory”) is stored in your browser’s or device’s local storage — not on our servers. Note that browsers may clear this storage (data cleaning, Safari rules, switching devices). That is what the optional backup is for (in “My account”): when enabled, a copy of your profile is kept on your account and restored when you sign in; when disabled, that copy is deleted immediately. If you choose not to enable it, loss of local storage means loss of your profile, without liability on our part.

5. Prices, availability and information

Prices, availability and information (weather, travel times, scores, itineraries) are indicative, aggregated from third-party sources and cached. They may have changed by the time you book. Only the price shown by the partner at the time of payment is binding. We do not guarantee the accuracy or availability of offers.

6. Scores and honesty

Scores are computed from real data (measured climate, budget, fit with your profile, accessibility, seasonal risks) and are explained in the app. They may include unfavourable warnings (“avoid August”) — that is our honesty promise. They are decision support, not a guarantee of your experience.

7. AI assistant

Sunveo’s conversational assistant is an artificial intelligence system. It can make mistakes; verify essential information (documents, health, safety) with official sources. It provides no medical, legal or financial advice. No payment is ever requested in the chat.

8. Prohibited uses

The following are prohibited: bulk extraction of Service data (scraping), reselling or redistributing its content, circumventing security measures, automated account creation, and any unlawful use. We may suspend or delete accounts involved.

9. Third-party content and licences

Destination content is based on Wikivoyage (CC BY-SA licence); photos from Wikimedia Commons (licence shown on each image page); climate data from Open-Meteo and NASA POWER; routes computed with data © OpenStreetMap contributors (ODbL). All other elements of the Service (brand, code, original text) are protected and may not be reused without permission.

10. Liability

The Service is provided “as is”, in beta, with no guarantee of continuous availability. To the extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to foreseeable direct damages resulting from a breach attributable to us; we are not liable for services provided by partners (transport, accommodation, activities), which are their sole responsibility. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits the mandatory rights granted to you by consumer protection law.

11. Changes

We may update these Terms (as the Service or the law evolves). For substantial changes you will be notified in the app with reasonable notice; continued use constitutes acceptance. Version history is available on request by email.

12. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by Portuguese law. If you are a consumer residing in another EU country, you keep the benefit of the mandatory protections of your country of residence.

For consumer disputes, you may turn to the Portuguese alternative dispute resolution bodies (Law no. 144/2015) — list on the Portal do Consumidor — and to the electronic complaints book. In court, the courts of your domicile have jurisdiction if you are a consumer; otherwise, the provider’s venue in Portugal.

13. Languages

These Terms are available in Portuguese, French, English and Spanish. In case of discrepancy, the Portuguese version prevails.
